Space Laboratory
Exhibits in the Space Laboratory include telescopes positioned at varying heights, a Solar System Distance Scale, the Our Place in the Sun exhibit, How Much is a Billion exhibit and the Are We There Yet exhibit. Visitors also can see the newest images from NASA in high definition video on our giant video screen in front of the Dassault Syst�mes Planetarium.
 
Sam & Jean Frankel Matter & Energy Laboratory
The Sam & Jean Frankel Matter and Energy Laboratory is home to more than 30 exhibits, including the DTE Energy Sparks Theater, which explores the fundamental principles of electricity and magnetism, energy conversion, and the property of matter.
Waves & Vibrations Laboratory
The Waves and Vibrations Laboratory explores an immense range of wave phenomena, offering an awe-inspiring glimpse at the everyday world of light and sound.
Dow Foundation Life Sciences Laboratory
The Life Sciences Laboratory features exhibits that focus on the similarities between the rain forest and city ecosystems.
GM Motion Laboratory
The GM Motion Laboratory houses more than 30 exhibits which address classical mechanics and compare motion, speed and direction.
SBC Children's Gallery
The SBC Children's Gallery at The New Detroit Science Center provides a 4,000-square-foot space that allows the pre-kindergarten set to form an interest in science as play.

 

Ford Learning Resource Center

The Ford Learning Resource Center, an integral part of The New Detroit Science Center, is the home to five unique learning environments. Five classrooms offer hands-on, inquiry-based learning, professional development opportunities, educational resources and classroom curriculum enhancement.
